Upgrading (+)
Upgrading raises the + of weapons and armour. The higher the +, the more attack and defence they give. This chapter covers every way the game offers today, from setting gems yourself to the NPC services for high-Level Items.
Overview: which Item is upgraded where
How you upgrade depends on the Item's Level (the Level a character needs to wear it, shown in the Item's description). There are two main ways: set gems yourself or have an NPC upgrade it for you.
| Item | How | Max | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapons / armour Level 1-180 | Set gems yourself (counted by number of gems) | +5 | Anywhere, by yourself |
| Weapons / armour Level 181-260 | Set Diamonds yourself | +15 | Anywhere, by yourself |
| Weapons Level 261 | Set Regent Diamonds yourself | +15 | Anywhere, by yourself |
| Armour Level 275 and up | NPC upgrades it | +15 (Level 360 sets max +10) | Reinforcer in Laglamia |
| Jin weapons | NPC upgrades it | Jin 210 +15 · Jin 261 +10 | Reinforcer in Laglamia |
| Armour Level 400 / 450 / 500 / 600 / 700 | NPC upgrades it | +5 or +15 depending on the piece | Reinforcer in Laglamia |
| Weapons Level 320 | NPC upgrades it | +15 | Master Marco Dalco in Great White Horn |
| God weapons and weapons Level 400 / 500 | NPC upgrades it | +10 | Master Marco Dalco in Great White Horn |
Time-limited Items cannot be upgraded in any way and cannot be used as materials.
Gems used for upgrading
Each gem works only on Items in its own Level range. If you use the wrong one, the game tells you why and the gem stays on your mouse; nothing is lost.
| Item Level | Gem | Great version |
|---|---|---|
| 1-30 | Amethyst | Great Amethyst |
| 31-60 | Topaz | Great Topaz |
| 61-90 | Opal | Great Opal |
| 91-120 | Sapphire | Great Sapphire |
| 121-150 | Ruby | Great Ruby |
| 151-180 | Emerald | Great Emerald |
| 181-260 | Diamond | Great Diamond |
| 261 and up | Regent Diamond | Great Regent Diamond |
A Great gem can always be used in place of the plain one. Its advantage: when the upgrade fails, the + does not go down.
Where to get gems
- Monster Drop: click a gem picture below to see which Monsters Drop it and how often.
- Gem Chips (e.g. Diamond Lv.3) that Monsters Drop can be exchanged for gems at the Gem Shopkeeper in Laglamia: 5 identical Chips give 1 Chip of the next step, from Lv.3 to Lv.2 to Lv.1 and then to the gem.
- Exchange for a higher gem at the other Gem Shopkeeper in Laglamia: 3 gems (some steps also need Magic Platinum and Lime) give 1 gem of the next step. For example, 3 Emerald + 3 Magic Platinum + 2,560,000 Lime give 1 Diamond, and 5 Diamond + 5 Magic Platinum + 10,240,000 Lime give 1 Regent Diamond.
- NPC shops do not sell upgrade gems.
- Diamond — Item Level 181-260 and used with NPCs
- Great Diamond — A failure does not lower the +
- Regent Diamond — Item Level 261 and up, and used with NPCs
- Great Regent Diamond — A failure does not lower the + · used to upgrade God weapons
- Magic Platinum — Used to exchange gems and for Jin weapons
- Diamond Lv.3 — Chip: 5 exchange for Lv.2
NPC Gem Shopkeeper (Chip exchange) — Laglamia Position 619, 523 — Exchanges 5 identical Chips for 1 Chip of the next step, up to the gem
NPC Gem Shopkeeper (gem exchange) — Laglamia Position 619, 525 — Exchanges 3 gems for 1 gem of the next step; stands next to the first one
Setting gems yourself
For weapons and armour up to Level 261. Works anywhere, no NPC needed.
- Wear the weapon or armour you want to upgrade first (only worn Items can be upgraded).
- Open the bag (key I).
- Click the gem in your bag; it sticks to the mouse.
- Click the equipment slot where that Item is worn (left side of the window).
- The game shows the result at once. One gem is used per try, whether it succeeds or not.

Worn equipment slots (left and middle) and the bag (right): pick up a gem from the bag and click the slot of the worn Item
If it cannot be done, the game lists every reason, for example the gem is outside the Level range or the Item is already +15. In those cases the gem is not used.
Items Level 1-180: counted by gems, max +5
Items in this range collect gems one at a time; when enough are set, the + goes up one step. 15 gems in total give +5. Gems in between always go in; only the gem that raises the step can fail.
| Step | Gems collected | Chance of the step-up gem | On failure |
|---|---|---|---|
| +1 | 1 gem | 100% | - |
| +2 | 3 gems | about 80% | Back to 1 gem (+1) |
| +3 | 6 gems | about 60% | Back to 3 gems (+2) |
| +4 | 10 gems | about 40% | Back to 6 gems (+3) |
| +5 | 15 gems | about 20% | All gems lost, back to +0 |
The 15th gem (from +4 to +5) is the riskiest: if it fails you lose all 14 gems already set. The game always asks you to confirm first.
Use a Great gem for the step-up gem. If it fails you lose only that one gem; the collected gems stay.
Items Level 181-260 and weapons Level 261: max +15
Items Level 181-260 use Diamond
- From +0 to +1 always succeeds.
- After that each try has a 50% chance, all the way to +15.
- A failure on an Item at +4 or higher lowers the + by 1 (below +4 it does not go down).
- With a Great Diamond a failure does not lower it.
- The Item never breaks.
Weapons Level 261 use Regent Diamond
- From +0 to +3 always succeeds.
- After that each try has a 50% chance, all the way to +15.
- A failure keeps the + as it is: it does not go down and nothing breaks.
- Examples of Level 261 weapons: Defeat Sword, Havoc Axe, Ruin Staff, Devil Ring, Crumble Gun, Blood Dual Sword, Spike hammer
Weapons Level 195-261 upgraded to +15 can be exchanged for a Jin weapon at the Reinforcer (see Jin weapons).
Items you cannot set gems on yourself
- Every Item above Level 261 (an NPC must upgrade it)
- Armour Level 275 and up, Jin weapons, Level 320 weapons and God weapons (an NPC must upgrade them)
- Meta / Hi-Meta shields, cloaks and wings
- Items whose description says they cannot be upgraded, such as starter weapons, the Evolution bracelet and Ancient Rings
- Time-limited Items

Reinforcer service menu
- The Item to upgrade must be in your bag (not worn), and nothing may be on your mouse.
- Gems and Lime are used every time, whatever the result.
- Every failure lowers the Item's upgrade endurance by 1. At 0 you must refill it with Graiton before you can go on (see Graiton).
Upgrading armour Level 275 and up
For the helmet, armour, pants and shoes of Level 275+ sets. Each try can turn out several ways: +2, +1, no change, -1, and at some steps a chance to break (the Item is gone).
| Sets Level 276-300 | Sets Level 308-360 | |
|---|---|---|
| Gem (1 per try) | Below +8 Diamond · from +8 Regent Diamond | Regent Diamond at every step |
| Fee | 300,000 Lime x (current + level + 1) | 450,000 Lime x (current + level + 1) |
| Max | +15 | +15 (Level 360 sets max +10) |
Example: a Level 276 piece at +7 going to +8 costs 300,000 x 8 = 2,400,000 Lime.

Jin weapons
You get a Jin weapon by exchanging a Level 195-261 weapon upgraded to +15 at the Reinforcer. There are 2 tiers, Jin 210 and Jin 261, and each one has its own random values (attack and required Level).
Exchanging for a Jin weapon
| Weapon to exchange (must be exactly +15) | You get | Gems needed |
|---|---|---|
| Weapons Level 195-200 such as Twilight Sword, Glorious Axe, Silverwing Staff, Sphinx Ring, Wave Rifle, Mystic Dual Sword, Battle Hammer | Jin 210 | 1 each of Amethyst to Emerald + 10 Diamond + 2 Magic Platinum |
| Weapons Level 210 such as Teurus Sword, Crash Axe, Soul Staff, Matrix Rifle, Dragon Ring, Grand Dual Sword, Reverse hammer | Jin 210 | 1 each of Amethyst to Emerald + 5 Diamond + 7 Magic Platinum |
| Weapons Level 261 such as Defeat Sword, Havoc Axe, Ruin Staff, Devil Ring, Crumble Gun, Blood Dual Sword, Spike hammer | Jin 261 | 1 each of Amethyst to Emerald + 1 Diamond + 1 Regent Diamond + 10 Magic Platinum |
Fee 10,000,000 Lime · success 40% · on failure you lose the gems and Lime but keep the +15 weapon · on success you get a +0 Jin weapon with random values: attack -10% to +10% and required Level -10% to +15%
Upgrading Jin weapons
- Below +8 Diamond · from +8 Regent Diamond · fee 300,000 Lime x (current + level + 1)
- Max: Jin 210 +15 · Jin 261 +10
- Jin weapons never break, but steps +3, +7 and +11 can reset: +3 and +7 go back to +0 · +11 goes back to +5, and the weapon's random values are rolled again too
- With a Great gem a failure neither lowers nor resets it

Re-rolling a Jin weapon's values
If your Jin weapon's random values are poor, re-roll them at the Reinforcer. Works on both Jin 210 and Jin 261, always succeeds, and the + does not change. Possible values: attack -3% to +10% · required Level -10% to +15% (the new values can be worse than before).

| +0 to +4 | None | 2,000,000 Lime |

Upgrade endurance and Graiton
Items upgraded at an NPC have an upgrade endurance value (shown in the Item's description). Every failed try lowers it by 1. At 0 the Item cannot be upgraded further until it is refilled.
- Wear the Item you want to refill.
- Pick up a Graiton from your bag so it sticks to the mouse.
- Click the equipment slot where that Item is worn.
- Graiton(Small) — Refills 20
- Graiton(Middle) — Refills 40
- Graiton(Large) — Refills 60
A Graiton only works when its whole amount fits. For example, an Item at 90 of 100 endurance cannot take a Graiton(Small) that refills 20; wait until it drops to 80. If it cannot be used, the Graiton stays; it is not lost.
Item glow and the 4-piece set Bonus
Glow by +
Highly upgraded weapons and armour glow, and other players see it too.

Items up to Level 180 go only to +5, so they can only have the red light.

Key points
- Setting gems yourself: the Item must be worn · upgrading at an NPC: the Item must be in your bag
- Great gems protect against going down and breaking; keep them for the risky steps
- Before confirming with an NPC, always read the possible outcomes the window shows. Those numbers are the real chances for the chosen Item and gem
- If a gem has restrictions (e.g. it cannot be traded), a successful upgrade gives the Item the same restrictions
- When a Monster kills your character the + does not go down, but an Item upgraded at an NPC may lose 1 upgrade endurance
